fun in the sun

Hi! this is cassidy blogging for lindsay. On monday july 14th we went to lagoon. when i say we i mean, me, my friend Meriah, Mckenna, Trevin, Joni, Kennedi, Joni's sister kylee, her mom Marnie, Janae, her friends Jorden, Cassie, and Gage, Lindsay, Brinlee, Raigen, and Hallie.
Oh wow !!! That's a lot of people. We had a blast !!!

me, meriah, kylee, brinlee, and marnie went on Music Express first. It was fun.

Rattllesnake Rapids was the funnest ride we went on.

Then we went to lagoon-a-beach. The lazy river was way nice.
The water slides were fun too. we did other stuff there to but thats most of the fun stuff

We went on the little slides with brinlee and rai rai.

then they worked on their tans while we went on the big slides.

Brinlee loved the airplane ride and all the other rides she went on.


Hallie, trevin, and rai rai spent most of the time in the stroller or in the shade
They were pretty good but.....
Rai Rai got a little sad and tired. she had a good little nap then she was fine.

Our trip to Idaho

For the 4th of July, we took the girls on a road trip to Idaho. Their cousin, Emma, got baptized on the 5th so we decided to all go up early and enjoy the 4th together too. I didn't get very many pictures because I spent all of my time chasing kids, but here are a few.

Brinlee and Rai Rai were both so good to help Hallie drink her bottle in the car. They are both little mommy's.

We got a hotel with two full beds. Raigen, Brinlee, and Kyle slept in one and I got the other to myself! It was great. The deal was always that Kyle would lay with the girls until they fell asleep and then come sleep with me, but he always fell asleep first. Hallie slept in the Play Pen. She is such a good little girl.

On Saturday after the baptism and great lunch everyone went swimming. Brinlee loves the water. Raigen just walked around the pool showing off her cute suit, Kyle loved the water slide, and Hallie and I hung out in the shade.

After swimming we went out to eat. The combination of a lot of sun, a lot of fun, and no nap resulted in a very tired Brinlee. Ever since Brinlee was a baby whenever we have gotten her out of her carseat she has woke up. When we got her out of her carseat at the restaurant she didn't even budge. She slept like this on Kyle's lap the whole time we ate. She was pooped!!

Raigen is definitely starting to show her cute personality. She is so independent. As aunt Annie would say. She is "Silent but Deadly" She is quiet but gets into everything and likes to tease everyone. Her and Brinlee are becoming partners in crime. We just love our girls.

Splash Park

Another thing we've done this summer...

Last week Kenna, Joni, and I took Cass and all the kids to the new splash park in South Ogden. It was perfect for the little ones and I think Cass liked it too. It was perfect for adults too because we got wet enough to stay cool, but not wet enough to need a swimsuit.

Summer Fun

Well, summer is here and the girls spend most of their time in the house to avoid the heat. They really get tired of staying inside all the time, so, for my sanity and theirs, Kyle and I have made a special effort to take them out to do something every day. Usually it's just a walk to the park in the evening, or a trip to Wal-Mart, or going to watch Kyle play softball, but we have done a few other fun things.

A couple of weeks ago Kyle and I took the girls to the the Treehouse Children's Museum in Ogden and they loved it. It's fun because everything is focused on the kids. For example, all the doorways and archways to the different exhibits are like 5 feet tall or less so Kyle and I did a lot of ducking. And, there are child sized toilets and sinks in the bathroom. I mention this because Brinlee decided she needed to go to the bathroom at least 6 times in 2 hours and I'm sure it was only because she liked the little toilets and being able to reach the sink and soap dispenser. The chairs and tables were all small. It was like two-year old's dream playhouse. Brinlee dressed up in every costume available and each time we had to fight her to take it off.

The baby nursery was a big hit!

Raigen loved the bridge (she just kept walking back and forth over it), the tables of toys, and the train...

Kyle had as much fun as the girls :) He played at every exhibit and loved the rock slide...

He spent like twenty minutes looking at everything through the microscope. Finally I had to tell him to let the kids have a turn...

Raigen hated this "talking donkey" and Kyle made the most of it (it was a puppet)!!

Luau Party

Yesterday Grandma Jean threw a Luau Party for all the grandkids. Her and Sandy, one of her good friends, went on a cruise of the Hawaiian islands at the end of May and decided to throw this party to show everyone all their souvenirs and pictures.
Everyone was greeted at the door with a flower lei or a shell necklace, there was Hawaiian music playing, and lots of great food to eat. Brinlee and Rai Rai had fun making grass skirts and learning to hula while Kyle did the Limbo with all the boys. Hallie and Raigen each got a cute Hawaiian dress and I don't know if I'll ever be able to get Brinlee to take off her new bracelet and necklace. We had so much fun. Thanks Grandma Jean!! Oh, and HAPPY FATHER'S DAY to all you great dads out there!!!!

OUR NEW WHEELS...

I guess nothing too exciting ever happens at our house. It's kinda the same ol' thing everyday. When we were little my mom started the "happy hand." The deal was that you couldn't play or go anywhere until you had done your "happy hand." Just like your hand has five fingers, you had five things to do in the morning...eat breakfast, get dressed, fix your hair, brush your teeth, and say your prayers. I've started doing that with the girls and Brinlee loves it. Anyway, that is how our day starts. Then, it's laundry, picking up after the girls, preparing meals, picking up after the girls, running errands, picking up after the girls....I think you get the picture. Brinlee is learning to clean up and loves to mop the floor and dust. Hallie is still pretty easy even though she has her moments. Rai Rai will help out once in a while, but I think she is our challenge right now...

On Saturday we bought a new car. It's a 2002 Mitsubishi Galant. With gas prices going up and the economy not so great we thought we better park the truck for a while and only use it when we needed to pull the trailer. That way we keep the mileage low so we can get the most out of it when we trade it in next year for a MINIVAN. Yep, that's right. Kyle has agreed to own a minivan. However there was a catch. If I get a minivan than he gets a 1997 Ford F350 for his "man needs." I thought that was a fair trade. I guess we'll still need something to pull the trailer with. Well, back to our new car. I think it's pretty cool.

And, just in case anyone was wondering, it does fit three carseats. That was one thing we tested BEFORE we signed the papers. I love having a trunk. No more strollers getting rained on or having to put groceries in a pile of snow in the bed of the truck. It's great.

Another feature that I love...

...the sunroof. The girls think it's pretty neat too! I think Kyle's favorite thing is the V6 engine. He likes to test the cars zero to sixty abilities and see how fast he can go on the freeway. He's definitely a guy!!

Camp Out In Daddy's Bed

I just had to post this cute picture. When I came home from work this morning, this is what I found. Kyle has always told me that he hates when I work because he hates sleeping alone. Well, I guess he found the solution to that problem, "Camp out in daddy's bed." I'm sure the girls just loved it. They would never turn down such a great offer. They love their daddy!

Mother's Day

Yesterday was Mother's Day and Hallie's blessing. Hallie's blessing dress was made by "Nuny," her great grandma. She looked so cute and was really good during her blessing. We won't mention how fussy she was after her blessing, we'll just say that her and I spent the rest of the meeting in the foyer :) Kyle did a great job and I finally got to hear him bear his testimony. After the blessing we all met at our house for a BBQ. Luckily it was a nice day. Everything turned out perfect and, even though I had to prepare the food and clean-up (with some help from Gage and Kenna), I had a great Mother's Day. I love being a mom!! I didn't get a lot of pictures of the family, but here is a picture of little Hallie in her blessing dress.

Four Generations

So, we went to see Grandma and Grandpa Canova, the girls great-grandparents, on Sunday. Chief pointed out that we had four generations present (grandpa, chief, me, and Hallie) so we decided to take a picture. Hopefully they'll still be here for a five generation picture, but that would mean that Brinlee would have to have a baby and I don't really want to think about being that old yet. So, what else have we done these past few weeks?.......Oh, I took the girls to ride "Front Runner" during its grand opening. It was crazy and when I say crazy I'm saying there was a ton of people and I was crazy to think I could manage a 2 year old, 1 year old, 3 month old, 10 year old (cassidy), 2 strollers, a purse, and a diaper bag on a train with over 200 people and a capacity for only 120. Dah!! But, for the most part, it was a great experience. We got off in Salt Lake and rode the trax to the planetarium and then walked to The Gateway and did some shopping. It was fun, but next time I think we'll leave the kids with Sugar!!! Also, thanks for the GREAT birthday! I couldn't have chosen a better family to spend the past 23 years with!
